This painting was painted at the Aitkin Paint Out in July of this year. It was a rainy cold wet day. Susan Novak was with me standing in the pouring rain. I thought both of us were crazy! But, this painting won the 2nd place for best of show. So I guess some of the really hard days to paint are worth it!

I just got back from taking a workshop with Sherri McGraw at the Donner Ranch in San Cristobal, NM. I learned so much I just can't wait to paint to see if I can apply what I was taught. This was one of the figures that we painted from life. All painted in north light only.... so different and yet it was so exciting to learn from such a master painter!

8x16 Oil on Canvas This was painted from a photo that I took at the Minnesota State Fair. The horses were waiting to go into the ring for their class. I was trying to get the excitment and their wonderment of what was going to happen. I love these great wonderful horses in all of their glory!!!
