RUN

"RUN" was an attempt to create an animated short film to the music of Outkast using only 14 drawings. The character run cycle was created with 14 frames drawn with a Cintiq using FLASH CS3. Drawing with the Cintiq allowed me draw rough and focus on finding the fluidity of the motion.Working in Flash made it possible to create a Symbol out of those 14 rough sketches, which I could then duplicate, rotate, enlarge, reduce and multiply. I could even start and stop the run on any frame at anytime. To choose the music, the run cycle was looped against a variety songs to find a rythmn that matched the motion. Once the match was made, the song dictated the manipulation of the animation.Hope you enjoy it. ...and that OUTKAST doesn't sue me.Design, Animation: Mike Owens
