Statement

This is Middle Earth as drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien. All the different colors are separate pieces of wood veneer. The ocean is Ash burl veneer dyed Turquoise blue. The compass rose is made up of various pieces of dyed wood. The forests and mountains are separately inlaid pieces of green-dyed Sycamore and Hawaiian Koa. The writing is a combination of English and the language Tolkien invented. (2001)
