"September Song" is a carpet bag knitted and felted to remind us that September brings such superb color effects on a palette of forest greens to golds and reds. Autumn's glory is reflected in the beautiful teal wool combined with autumnal colors of varigated wool to reflect the change of seasons. Knitted/felted in a beautiful carpet bag shape with gorgeous knitted/felted handles that tie into lovely rosettes at each corner of this bag. The cording on the sides is knitted and felted along with the bag and adds to the spectacular and fun design and the signs of Autumn. A lovely autumn scene of leaves and vines is knitted and felted separately and then added after the felting process. The leaves are needlefelted in gorgeous autumnal tones with ROVING (yarn not spun but like batting). The top edge closes with a gold magnetic clasp and the interior presents itself with a lovely pocket continuing the autumnal theme. "September Song" was a musical number from the 1938 Broadway theatre play called Knickerbocker Holiday. This bag illustrates Autumn's crowning glory and the gathering of a palette of autumnal tones.
