On October 9, 2003, it’s one of those memorable fall mornings as the sun begins to creep higher over the eastern horizon in Ely, MN and Shagawa Lake of northeastern Minnesota. The U.S. Forest Service’s “Ely Airfleet”, comprised of 3 DeHavilland DHC-2 Beavers, completes a flyover of it’s seaplane hanger and docks.
