An ETUI was used by sailors in the 17th & 18th centuries to mend the ship's sails. It was a small, pocket-sized needlecase. I designed a large pattern for this ETUI and this one is an office ETUI with several places for storage of home and office supplies. The astrological theme carries through from the outside fabric to the gorgeous interior sky blue fabric. The lid lifts off and the interior sides fall open to expose the many places for the supplies. I carried the astrological theme into the interior of the lid which has gold stars and a moon glued to the lovely blue fabric and the inside edges of the lid are lined with a beautiful gold cord. These are conversation pieces and it is amazing to watch someone take the lid off and expose the several beautiful and functional places for everyday items.
