Statement

This piece is done on vellum, or calf skin, which has been specially prepared and sanded to accept writing with watercolor, nib and quill. I took advantge of the beautiful transparancy of the vellum and created lettering underneath the vellum. The final presentation for this piece was to wrap the two layers (paper with text and the vellum with text) around a board.
