7", burnished and Raku fired bowl
Bowls like these are a lot of work. Throw bowl, trim it, dip it in slip, burnish with a small stone, incise design, apply wax resist to design, coat the outside with non-maturing glaze, bisque fire, glaze inside with one glaze and on the outside with another glaze, Raku fire, scrape off the non-maturing glaze and wax the exterior.
