"Gourmandise" was woven in Lyon, France, for the Fete de la Lumiere on December 8. In the evening of this celebration shops are open, houses are illuminated and people walk about in the streets listening to music, visiting with each other and looking into shop windows especially decorated for the occasion.

This tapestry, which hung in the window of the famous chocolatier Bernachon, shows the gathering of family and friends to celebrate the Fete de la Lumiere.
