The glowing interior fabric walls attract the passersby’s attention at night.
The fabric walls act as space deviders and light fixtures in the space.
Simple, inexpensive raw building materials compose to give the reception area an active feel.
The waiting area is the major area for the exhibit of art. The softness of fabric is a tactile and visual characteristic that contributes to the visceral effects of the space.

The unique conditions of this project, a very small but open space with ample day light, small budget, reuse of some building materials and components, and finally the desire to preserve day light while making many distinct rooms were the main restraints and opportunity in the design process for this project. A true collaboration between LEAD, Inc., our client, and fabric consultant, this project attempts to arrive at a visceral environment in a raw context of the existing concrete block building. The out come is conducive to both chiropractic practice as well as exhibition of fine arts. The stretched fabric provides enough privacy while allowing daylight and theatrical light fill the spaces.
