Statement

This is a 16x20" colored pencil drawing of a common snapping turtle digging her nest. I came across her in June while driving on Highway 47 between Isle and Onamia.

I initially stopped to move her off the highway, but this girl was already hard at work. I snapped some quick photos and let her be. I hope she finished all right!

"Nesting Snapper" was accepted and shown at the Minnesota State Fair art show in 2006. She has also been shown at the National Reptile Breeder's Expo in Daytona Beach.

She is framed in a 2" warm brown moulding with conservation glass and an ivory eight-ply cotton matboard. I will let her go for $1000.
