Statement

Carving in a thick relief format, my goal is to pull the viewer into the picture, along the garden path and up the steps. I enjoy playing with the perspective, so that the foreground plants are viewed from above, while the background is viewed from below. The piece is built of layers of wood, and the painting is also built up of many layers.
