Statement

This monoprint is part of the permanent collection of the University of MN, Morris. It is hanging in a dorm room common area.

The print depicts my neighborhood after the straight-line winds storm of July 1st, 1997. My dad walks the family dog in the foreground, while neighbors wander on either side of him.

The experience was deliciously surreal as we collectively wandered the neighborhood to assess the damage. My parents lost three trees and the cleanup lasted weeks. No one was hurt.
