In this work, pieces of hand made flax paper are layered and interlaced with freshly shorn wool, and then worked together to form an abstract madonna-like figure.

In my sculpture, the ancient and organic materials of wool and flax represent raw animal energy and upward plant/spiritual essence.Working them together symbolizes the integration of the physical with the spiritual in our lives.

My art reflects the continual balancing act that we attempt as these opposite energies surface and define who we are at any given time.
