Performed at Patrick's Cabaret, October 16-17th, 2003, this piece challenged the notion of the audience as passive performers by being performed entirely in the dark. The theme of disconnectedness was emphasized when Jaime phoned her mother and had a conversation, after which the audience talked to the performer and one another. To be repeated elsewhere soon, with minor changes...
Sarah Harris, Artistic Director of Patrick's Cabaret, quoted in The Pioneer Press, 11/07/03:
What has influenced you the most recently? Watching the people perform at Patrick's and people in the audience being really close to the performers. Jaime Kleiman performed a piece in the dark inspired by the blackouts in New York City. It really challenged the audience, and the audience had to participate.
