Artist's Statement: Sculpture Exodus elements: blue Red Sea; brown desert; beaded "tail" parade of Israelites; 3 large beads Miriam, Aaron, and Moses; 40 beaded tassels years in desert; 5 metal beads the Pentateuch.
Sandra Brick, with paper mache , created a large bowl she called “Exodus Seder Vessel”. The interior of the bowl is blue for the Red Sea while its exterior is the brown desert. Forty strands of beads are inner laced over the vessel. The strands represent the forty years lost in desert.. The beaded strands become a tail on the Seder vessel to represent the tribes of the Israelites.
