Statement

"Mother Dear I love You So!" Embroidery on Muslin Doll Form, 18 inches Tall, November 2007.

This doll took me 10 months to complete. It was a labor of love for my Mother for her birthday. It is rich in symbolism of the things she taught me, her life, and the life we have together. On the chest is a heart, an Aztec temple, a pagoda. The back features a portrait of the Idaho Falls LDS Temple where my parents were married. The back of the head features a portrait of my mother as an angel, with a quote from a poem I wrote for her in 1999. The side of the head features a honey bee & honey comb. This is a Mormon symbol of everyone being worker bees in the beehive which represents the Kingdom of God. There is more symbolism. I have learned so much from my mother and am thankful to be her son!
