--Art commission for the Fargo Forum newspaper offices. Using a variety of handwork techniques, I combined text, paper and textiles in unconventional ways. Original wood type was hand-rubbed on paper then enlarged and hand printed on the piece. At first glance, one sees re-appropriation and re-use of newsprint, reporter notes and remnants of a printer’s apron. But further exploration of each piece reveals a multitude of layers. A host of stories, history and life experiences are re-interpreted through bits of cloth, paper, paint and text.
