Statement

Installed fall of 2007 at the Oregon Extension in Lincoln, Oregon, in the bark burner formerly used by the Henry Logging company who built the small mill town in the late 1920's.

Installation, drawings and prints, including many from Natalie Good, are displayed throughout the space. The small community of students and residents of Lincoln are invited to come and participate.

Firewood is piled against the far wall of the bark burner; pages ripped from the gospels and a few from Acts are staple in a heart to the wood. I invite viewers to come pick a page from the woodpile and bring it to the chopping block where they split the wood and the gospel page with it. After three swings, split or not, the wood is tossed into a bonfire built nearby. The chopping block reads, "The Harder The Heart."
