12 pieces of 10x12 inch handmade paper with monotype. 2008.
This detail shows some paper that has been partially eaten by worms.
Tending to Decomposition: Floor Accumulation is a work in progress. I am making handmade paper with pulp painting, adding monotype and woodblock printing, and cutting to reveal what's below. Stacks of this paper create an analog to layers of life and decay at the surface of the soil. My work is inspired by the curiosity and wonder I feel as I garden and compost, and hope to create a similar experience for the viewer.
