“Timber Jay, Lumberjack and Canadian Jay”, (28x14 in. , each image 8x10 in.) framed original $700.00
It was my last chance to grouse hunt on that last, cool weekend of October 2002 as I sat down alone at the August Lake boat landing. Alone, that is, until I started to eat my sandwich. First one, then two and finally the third Canadian jay swooped in out of nowhere to help me eat my lunch. Back and forth they flew, each time carrying a small piece of bread off to some clandestine hiding place to be savored at a later time. Also known as gray jays, timber jays or simply lumberjacks, this trio put on an aerial circus that would’ve been the envy of any air show promoter.
