Statement

This piece was commissioned and used as the cover piece to The Lutheran Magazine, Dec 2000. As a Christmas text, it proclaims Jesus, the Word, became incarnate. He became flesh and lived among us. Jesus' mission was to witness to the glory of God; to reveal and show us the Father that we would believe. Jesus came to do the will of HIs Father. Jesus' ultimate act of obedience to His Father's will was the cross. This is the reason I designed the cross in WORD - to lift up Christ's sacrificial love for us and the glory and victory of God's authority over sin and death with the resurrection.
