Statement

DIVA MN student competition
March 8, 2008
This two-piece ensemble was inspired by Picasso's early paintings of acrobats. The pants are a French blue velvet and the top is 100% cotton voile dyed to match the cold pinks in the paintings. The 250 bias-cut "petals" were hand sewn to the bodice and then trimmed again once they were on the model. Model: Sara Duerr, Photo: Jesse Diehn
