My vintage inspired fine art toys recall daydreams from an idealistic childhood. A bygone era where fantastic stories of well dressed animals entertain children before they fall asleep. These fantasies from children's literature, antique toys, and the theatre are some of the elements that influence my work.
I use a polymer clay to construct most of the figure. I cast each head from my original molds. Unlike working with porcelain, polymer clay allows me to resculpt the the head after casting, creating a unique look.
I sculpt, paint, and costume the dolls and also do all of the marketing including designing my own dynamic website. I have been making dolls for about ten years now gradually improving my skills through insight from other top doll makers. I studied illustration and graphic design and I try to utilize those skills in my miniature work when ever I can.
