the pond 2006
Appliqué, beads, and embroidery on hand-dyed satin. It's based on a story of my parents' told to me as a child, how my father would always make my mother stop the car and wait for him to take photos, often in the middle of nowhere or at least nowhere she wanted to be. This was one of those stops, to photograph a shopping trolley at the bottom of a murky old pond, she never understood the appeal, he never understood how she missed it. SOLD
