The materials used to bead the rosette include #10 seed beads, beading thread, art paper with a synthetic backing, and an Indian Head/Buffalo nickel. The beading technique and the material used to bead the rosette is an innovative process developed by the Limon over the years. The actual rosette is approximately three and one half inches in diameter. It takes ten to fifteen hours to bead a rosette this size.
The Turtle is a powerful symbol among Native Americans. The Turtle taught us patience and never to give up. The Turtle is seen as strength and solidarity, and it is old, and wise and well-respected.
