A series of portraits painted on strips of water colored paper is the other Third Place winner “Sons of Adam, Daughters of Eve” made by Heidi Nelson. On a “quit” of woven strips of light blue gray water colored paper Heidi superimposed portions of three watercolors of faces, two men; and, a woman. They are non-European in features. Or, as Heidi says of her work: “Against the warp and weft of life we are all sons and daughters of the God.” Her work is 40" wide and 31" high.
