Artist's Statement: Col 2:12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Everyday objects: three clear vessels filled with water. Water. Perhaps the most powerful image in the Christian tradition is water. The First Place winner Ardell Nelson’s installation piece “Redeemed” speaks to how important water is in the Christian tradition. With objects in the water, or floating on the water, one is a reminded of the how simple yet essential water is as they look at “Redeemed”. Reminded that one is born anew in water; of the faith needed to walk on water; and, that water is the source of everlasting life. The three clear vessels are on a white cloth covered table 50" wide by 16" back by 34” high.
