DANCE HALL DAYS is a newly created revue featuring dance and music hailing back to the grand ol’ days of ragtime and early Jazz. Travel vicariously through time to the roaring twenties of the Great Gatsby fame. Favorites like the Charleston, Tango and Swing, are served up fresh in this romp through American pop culture. Join us as we revisit the innocent days of rock-n-roll and once again do the popular moves like the twist and the hand jive. Please welcome Christopher Yaeger and the C Street Dance Company as they Present Dance Hall Days.

Christopher has played a variety of roles in dance and theater since his early school days. As an independent Minneapolis based teaching artist, he works in schools and performs on stages across the globe including the Twin Cities, Budapest, Prague, Las Vegas, and Seoul. As a seasoned traveler, he is excited to take you on a journey exploring folk dances from around the world, or enjoy samples of dance styles originating in our back yard. Reverie and relationship negotiations—with a touch of mischief—in a series of short dances that speak of life cycles. The CHRISTOPHER WATSON DANCE COMPANY (CWDC) showcases three dances in the October Kinetic Kitchen. CWDC is dedicated to providing high quality, meaningful dance experiences to people of all ages through training, audience education, and performance. CWDC has performed and taught workshops in California, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Arkansas as well as in Duluth, Grand Marais, and Ely.

Aurora dance was born in 2006 by director Bryan Gerber to create movement experiences that integrate elements of Dance, Music, and Theatre into a totality of experience that educates and informs its audience. We believe Dance, and related forms of Art, create in individuals a sense of community, belonging and well-being, and that Dance is a culturally charged experience that is vital to the development of an individual and their relation to community. Our Mission is to expand the boundaries of dance by including musical and theatrical elements, through this translation of performance we hope to expand also the attitudes and experiences of our audience.
