Statement

Students at Project Achieve in St. Paul talked together about their interest and admiration for basketball players. Individually they described struggles to move forward, to aim for a goal, to achieve a dream - and the many obstacles in their way.

Players in their mural move in contrasting directions, two of them rising above the obstacles represented by two others. The students are talented artists, poets and athletes when they rise above the many challenges they face. It was a privilege to work wlongside them and learn from them.
