Statement
Two Color Zinc Plate Print of a sketch by Montevideo Area Artist Malena Handeen.
Jose Artigas was the "liberator" of Uruguay. In the 1950's, school children from Montevideo Uruguay donated pennies to have a statue of Artigas made and sent to their "sister" city -- Montevideo, Minnesota. This print is a representation of that statue which stands in the center of Montevideo's Main Street.
