Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Feb 6- Apr 15, 2007.
Role: Understudy
Inspired by the best-selling book by Laura Joplin, Love, Janis
takes audiences beyond the music and into the soul of a legend. The
show uses Janis's own words - either from letters, interviews or her
songs - to trace her explosive rise to fame in the '60s to her tragic
death in 1970. In addition, this intimate portrayal brings to life many
of her smash-hit classics, including "Piece of My Heart," "Get It While
You Can," "Me and Bobby McGee," "Ball and Chain," and "Mercedes Benz."
