Statement

DREAMS, THEIF OF SLEEP
This sculpture deals with the loss of my mother and two brothers within 3-months time.                        
I hated looking at my pillow and lying down to sleep.  It was harsh reality waking in and out of dreams.    I knew why it was so painful!    What Keyes went where? (Keyes my mom’s maiden name)   doorknobs worn shinny from constant opening and closings. The Safety Pins to secure my hurts.   I first built the images as collages.    Mother, brothers, Mark & Jim.  Then I printed them on t-shirt transfer paper, and ironed them onto the pillowcase.
