From "B is for Battle Cry", written by my wife Pat Bauer, this scene shows Clara Barton, "The Angel of the Battlefield", helping a soldier who is about to be killed when a bullet passes through her sleeve. In order to capture the poses I needed, Pat and I created this scene, in costume, in our front yard in south Minneapolis. We have very understanding neighbors . . .
