Statement

I've been intrigued by the idea of using a force of nature, light energy, as a drawing material. These works use no pigments, only focused light reflections and shadows. The close up shots show details of the striped reflections above plastic strips, and striped shadows below.

Reviews

"Spirals" was also shown at the Minnesota Museum of American Art 3D Biennial in 2008. The reviewer for Art Review and Preview Winter 2008 says "Visscher's rippling light installation glimmers reflecting god, light, water and ice."
