Statement

"Roosters are completely screwed along with countless numbers of hens by the backyard chicken phenomenon. The only positive thing is that when people keep a few hens, chickens are rescued from the total oblivion into meat and eggs to which they are otherwise condemned in the minds of almost all human beings. Chickens do not have a chance with our species, and our curse on them isn't extinction but proliferation."
-Karen Davis, United Poultry Concerns
