The graceful trunks of birch trees are beautiful to look at. These were even more so with the backlighting from the setting sun. It was a challenge to get the fresh greens, but it paid off, as the result is an award winner.
The trees in this painting have been cut down and no longer exsist. That makes this painting mean even more to me, that these trees may live on and bring beauty to viewers. It was painted along the shore of Lake Superior on a beautiful simmer evening. I hope it brings memories to you of simmer evenings at the lake.
"A beautiful piece, well done". Marc Hanson, artist, judge.
