Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC) is proud to present its first solo artist exhibit featuring the artwork of contemporary artist Stephen Capiz. Capiz grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and now works out of Minneapolis in the Northrup King Building. The exhibit features a selection of abstract and semi-abstract landscape pieces from Capiz’s diverse body of work. Capiz’s work is packed with energy, sometimes soothing, sometimes chaotic, and always intriguing. The various people, travels, and stories Capiz has encountered in his life serve as his inspiration. His work has continued to evolve over four decades, during which he has immersed himself in various art forms. “It’s all about art for me,” explains Capiz. His paintings, large and small, are chronicles of his life, where he has been and who he is today.
Capiz’s paintings can be found in many corporate and private collections in the United States (including Hilton and Westin Hotels and Northwestern College), as well as across the globe in Iceland, Japan, Canada, Spain, Argentina and Mexico (including the private collections of the former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox).
