colored pencil on rag, 1998
This piece was a very quick one, in terms of coming up with an idea, it was emotionally charged and I sketched very fast and pretty much worked out the color scheme during the coloring process. The title is misleading, because I did not connect the two distinct forms at the bottom. For me the figure could be pushing against another object or abstract frustration just as easily as itself. This piece represents struggle, in all of it's naked humility. This belongs to an acupuncture friend of mine. Another exchange for body work!
