Statement

My artwork is a Self-Portrait in Alcoholic Beverages, collected to spell my name.

Starting the series in late Feb.2012, by May the collection was photographed, photo shopped, and then in June, printed on canvas. Then I continued the series beyond my name to incorperate my families names. First, I collected of all the nicknames. Now I’m continuing to collect, the formal names. In the future, do the middle names. This artwork has become an ongoing series.

As in all collections, I had extras of some letters, and none at all of other letters needed. Also, I had collected letters not in any of our names. The letter’ I ‘was very hard to find. Ice House beer is good but I did not like ice in our names. Also there was a nice wine starting with an ‘I ‘, but the cost of $35 was too high for my budget. This series was a lot of fun collecting the evidence, but turned out to be a lot of hard work bringing it to fruition.
