Myself in a press photo for the Haunted Basement
Blanket fort without stage lighting
Example of old classroom posters
Approaching this piece, I wanted to take an actor-driven perspective because with past experiences I knew that actors within the room were often what was most memorable.
Because of this, I decided on a narrative that fit the theme of the room. The narrative in my head was that there were children that were left behind in a kindergarten classroom for years. All they had to occupy their time were arts and crafts. So, they naturally turned to self-mutilating themselves for crafts.
The installation included fingerpainting, old posters from classrooms, staple guns, and a ten-foot-tall navagatable blanket fort.
