If you have seen the movie “Donnie Darko” (2001) you may recognize Donnie in the foreground and Frank (the rabbit) in the background. An oversimplification of the plot of this movie would be that Donnie is a troubled teenager. Frank is a hallucination meant to guide Donnie to save the world. Donnie must decide whether to listen to Frank or take his medication. I imagine that this would cause Frank to fly off into a happy dimension like the background of this painting. This painting is not a criticism of people who really need antidepressants, but of those of us that must decide if they are depressed because they are doing what everyone else wants them to do and not what they are meant to do.
