I completed this piece in 2000 and it was exhibited in the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit the same year. This piece was started before even knowing what it was going to be; something I don't usually do, but it was exciting. At a certain point I said Aaaa, it's a landscape. A landscape without green seems unimaginable, yet it reads as one with trees, mountains, and a river. The technique was also a surprise and an experiment; oil painting on embossed paper, fabric in a continuous collage format. I enjoy the dreamy feeling I get from looking at it hope you do too. It measures 5' 1/12'x 2' 4 1/2".
I over heard a woman at the opening night for the Minnesaota State Fair exhibit say it's a collage, but it's a landscape-fascinating.
