This is the finised piece. The other images show ithe shades in progress. I wanted to try and turn an acrylic form using a wood turning lathe and tools. The unexpected result was a shape resembling chip-carved ice. The stands and top rings were fabricated on a metal lathe, using solid six inch round aluminum stock. The light sources are 40watt equivalent Flourescent coil bulbs.
