Statement

I have always been entranced by light moving within glass; particulary handblown glass like this bowl of mine. The wholeness, breadth and balance of the piece comes from deliberately placing the mangos far from each other, requiring the peripheral vision to be just as involved in viewing as the close-up, detail-oriented vision. Without the 2 mangos to balance it, the glass bowl threatens to fall off the page and shatter....

original chalk pastel on MiTiente paper is sold.
