This painting remains one of my favorites. The title comes from an old German hymn, which translated means "He on the Cross is My Love." It was completed in 2004 during my first semester of painting. It was my first work to experiment with glazing techniques.

This work received a Merit Award for the 2004 spring semester Student Art Exhibit at Bethany Lutheran College.
