JPEG (.jpg) Photograph of an award winning dahlia on a picnic bench. Photoshop dry brush filter.
A neighbor's award-winning dahlia is one subject in a Photoshop painting I'm making for my mother to hang in my father's modernist blue A-frame cabin on Whitefish Lake. In the Swedish light of the sun on a picnic bench in the north woods, the dahlia is an abstract form and a silhouette. When I was a boy, I met architect Marcel Breuer, who was looking out a small window of a Russian-born architect's cabin onto the lonely beach of our peninsula. He was staying there as he built his cathedral at St. John's University, and my father assisted him.
