Statement

My friend Patrick Kruegel and I returned from a day of canoeing on Seagull Lake. The sun was setting and the early spring temperature was dropping. I turned around from the darkening shadows of my tent to look back at the lake, and I saw a Minnesota scene. (Patrick's parents are modern art collectors and artists. His father receives awards from the Swiss type directors association, and he consults on communications with world political leaders. His mother is a constructivist painter.)
