Statement

The beta cell produces insulin in the pancreas. Insulin helps the body use sugars in the blood. The pancreas of a person who has diabetes does not make enough insulin. I'm creating animation that shows how a hypothetical drug could help beta cells produce and store insulin at night, while a person who has diabetes sleeps. I created this illustration with Photoshop using additional sketches by medical illustrator Michael Schenk.
