MINNEAPOLIS, MN – OX-OP presents Rated XX -- An international group show confirming the strength provided by the XX gender in today’s underground art world. Top of the line talent from Japan, France, Russia, Canada as well as a vast array of prominent U.S. artists are brought together through the laser-sharp curation of New York’s Cristina Martinez (Bust Magazine fashion editor/Boss Hog). Unlike many past movements in the arts (music/art/liturature) where women seemed to get second shrift, the current brewing underground is being molded equally by both genders, with women right there on the leading edge from pin-up art to graffiti. This show goes above and beyond the point to prove that their contributions are every bit as vital, and definitely just as ballsy.
